Tungsten-carbide

Tungsten-carbide is produced by using the powder metallurgical production process. The main contents are hard material (basically carbide Wc/TiC/NbC/TaC) and binder materials (mainly cobalt (Co), seldom nickel (Ni) et al.). The most significant hard material is tungsten carbide (WC).

The most of characteristic for WC-Co Tungsten-carbide is:

  1. highest wear resistance
  2. high durability
  3. high bending
  4. strength high elastic modulus and high rigidity
  5. highest pressure restistance, good toughness (depending on the grade)
  6. good corrosion resistanceexcellent thermal conductivity
  7. higher temperature strength than steel grade

The different properties of every single grade is achieved by various combination ratios of the components, the selection and the combination of the grain shape and the grain size, as well as the exact balanced process control. There are NHT-grades for every applicationin ideal quality available.

Examples of usage:

  1. Inserts, piercing dies and plunger for die cutting tools
  2. forms, stamps and die plates to press-mold powderd metal
    and ceramic lumps
  3. bearing rings, valves, jet nozzles for powder materials and liquids
  4. every sort of cutting tools
  5. knives for paper, plastics, sheet metals and pressed circuits
  6. Perfect structure material for wear parts with highest demands for engineering and toolmaking. Fastening by brazing, bonding, srewing, clamping, shrinking and sealing.

Possible shapes:

Bars, bushings, rings, plates for wire-erosion (see stock list).Short delivery time for special (according to drawing).
